The Early Learning Center (ELC) provides the optimal learning environment for children 18 months – 5 years old to grow and reach their full potential. By meeting social and emotional needs, we encourage children to become independent learners and thinkers to prepare them for school and beyond.
The Early Learning Center offers a welcoming learning environment for children and families. Our staff consists of dedicated, professional and loving teachers who nurture and care for your children as if they were their own.
We are proud to announce that our program became a NAEYC Accredited program on November 5, 2010 and was recently accredited for another 5 years in 2015.
Only 4% percent of Harris County childcare centers are nationally accredited by the main accrediting bodies, including NAEYC.
NAEYC is the National Association for the Education of Young and they are known as the “Mark of Quality” in early childhood programs. Our center is also a United Way Bright Beginnings program which supports our mission of supporting family needs. By consulting with the center on an ongoing basis, United Way provides staff training and incentives to teachers to continue their education.
With the achievement of NAEYC Accreditation, our program meets 10 NAEYC standards which include:
- Educated, bi-lingual teaching staff that continue professional development by attaining a CDA, Associates, Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in education
- Low teacher to child ratios, small group sizes, research based curriculum, and a developmentally appropriate environment.
The Chinese Community Center’s Child Development and Youth Programs serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks that meet USDA guidelines at no cost to families through the CACFP program (Texas Department of Agriculture’s Child and Adult Care Food Program). The program does not discriminate against any potential participant.
