Who is an AAPI Frontliner?
An Asian American Pacific Island (AAPI) Frontliner is a person who is providing services to our Houston community, including but not limited to healthcare personnel, grocery store industry staff, business owners, restaurant industry staff, first responders, public officials, or community volunteers. We want to take the time to recognize AAPIs for rising up and taking lead in Greater Houston areas.
Why are we doing this?
During this unprecedented pandemic, we all need to lean on each other to care for our neighbors. Unfortunately, Asian Americans are facing harmful discrimination which tears apart our community that we have worked hard to build. There are leaders in our community who are doing their part to ensure our city can get through these trying times, from store clerks, to mothers, to small business owners, and to first responders.
Our mission is to uplift our community by highlighting these individuals, and share a glimpse of their lives, their passion, and their commitment in action. Let us commend AAPI heroes for joining the fight for Houstonians and all of humanity.
In collaboration with the Asian American Youth Giving Circle.
