For over 25 years, the Chinese Community Center’s Child Development Center(CDC) provides an optimal learning environment for children ages 18 months to 5 years old to grow and reach their full potential. By focusing on the “whole child” (social/emotional, cognitive, language and physical developmental needs), we encourage self-awareness in which children can become independent learners and thinkers that prepares them for school and beyond. We believe in partnering with families (child and parent/guardian), we will be able to build strong reciprocal relationships.
As a Reggio Emilia-inspired child care, we believe the importance on the natural curiosity and creativity of each child, fostering their development through active exploration and hands-on experiences. The approach emphasizes collaboration between children, teachers, and parents, creating a strong sense of community and mutual respect. Artistic expression and the use of various materials are encouraged to promote cognitive, emotional, and social growth. By prioritizing the child’s unique interests and ideas, we create a nurturing and stimulating environment that nurtures their natural love for learning through play.
Our child care program includes:
- Lead teachers who either have an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree or earned their Child Development Associate (CDA) credential
- CPR-certified child care staff
- Early exposure to Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish in their classrooms
- Classroom curriculum inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach
- Low child-to-teacher ratios to help ensure responsive care to nurture each child’s development
- Renovated playground for safe, explorative, outdoor play that encourages students’ social, emotional, mental, and physical growth
