An annual tradition in Houston’s Asiatown since 2003, the festival celebrates both the Lunar New Year and the beauty of Houston’s vast cultural diversity. This year, the Festival will also kick off a series of exciting Asian Heritage seasonal programs that will highlight the culinary delights, artistic wonders, and ancient traditions of Asian cultures.
DRAGON AND TIGER STAGE 龍虎台
The main attraction of the Lunar New Year Festival, the Dragon and Tiger Stage features performances from across the cultural spectrum, ranging from traditional Lion and Dragon Dances, Kung Fu Demo, traditional Chinese Music Orchestra, etc.
The Festival’s Opening Ceremony will be held on the Dragon and Tiger Stage, where dignitaries, board members, community leaders, and sponsors will kick off the day’s celebration.
GOOD WISHES ARTS CENTER 吉祥民俗文化館
Housed in Chinese Community Center’s USA Sports Center, the Good wished Arts Center will offer a unique and exclusive experience for the whole family to engage in hands-on cultural activities and crafts, such as calligraphy and origami, and learn about the significance of the animals in the Chinese Zodiac.
LUCKY FIND BAZAAR 新春大集市
The outdoor Lucky Find Bazaar features more than 50 vendors and showcases the area’s best restaurants, food trucks, local businesses/non-profits, corporate sponsors, and community partners. This unique gathering is a must-see for all visitors. Everyone at the festival can enjoy a diverse array of fantastic Asian cuisine, fun games, and vendor giveaways.
